Early Men and the Mother of All

The Mother Goddess and her Guardians

28mm scale

A goddess on a mountain top
Was burning like a silver flame
The summit of beauty and love
And Venus was her name

The ancestors had carved the tribe's idol of the Mother-Goddess Lah with awe-inspiring skill.   From her womb had sprung the moon and sun, the world, all the animals, and finally, the People.  To their protector and creator they bring offerings, in the hopes of good hunting, good health, and safety in a world full of daily perils.

Today, Bergar the Elder and Vorlu the Fire Holder guard the idol
and its sacred grove from desecration by outsiders

The Goddess is a Reaper Bones model, the Neolithics are from Pulp Figures... a very deep dive into my lead pile!  These were passed on to me in 2002 by Bob Murch, when I worked with his wife.

"Thag no!  Is not good idea!"

  2. Excellent mini and great paint job! I'll have to pick one of those up as an objective marker.

  3. See? I told ya! 30% creamier blends 100% more penises. Enough of big data.

Congrats on the dinosaur 's paintjob. Whoever did, got it in a nutshell: airbrush + eyes 😁

JK the set works pretty well... the offerings, the statue... Dat A55! Looks like a more down to earth less fantasy skirmish one shots using cavemen could be fun. Like kidnap women from enemy tribe (stelth xD), find fire, gather fruit, fight sabre tooth cubs (momma would be boss level fight) ...sounds easily soloable plus 2 teams could coop taking down a mammoth.

Just few troglodytes, few rubber animals and EZ minimal scenery. I wonder if there's anything like that at wargame vault 🤔

    1. There's one called "Primal" that was recommended to me on Instagram.

I'm glad you like these and they're a bit inspiring. They're actually not laborious paint jobs, mostly skin and a couple of fur or hide colors. So producing a whole tribe might be easier than with other subjects.
