15 mm
Haven't done much painting lately, but here I am again! Just finished this neat little guy, a 15mm.co.uk sculpt I originally saw painted up on Spacejacker's blog. His gun was a bit of a mess so I replaced it with something a bit better: an M-7 Lancer, an energy rifle capable of stopping a rampaging Geth dead in its tracks. Not, admittedly, my smoothest conversion but it's good enough IMO.
Alien Plantimals
15 mm scale
I made these out of acorn stems I found in Florida. I thought they'd be perfect for some kind of barnacle/plant-like sessile alien. The "tongues" are just wire.
"I don't know, those things just freak me out." "Reeeelax, they suppoooosedly harmless." |
Nice conversion he looks great and the Alien Fauna looks excellent. Great job Allison!
ReplyDeleteHe's great work but the plants are excellent too!
ReplyDeleteVery nice painting, scratched plants, and weapon conversion. Really neat stuff, Mr. M.
ReplyDeleteLove the plantimals.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I really like how you painted those guys! The acorn plants look amazing also. I never would have guessed they were acorns.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone, glad you like these :)
DeleteCPBelt: They're little tiny ones that don't seem to grow around here. Up here, acorn cups are ~ 2 cm across and "hairy". Still maybe useful :)
This mini's gun was a bit of a shame as I had sculpted a pretty nice gun onto it. Again, I don't think I gave it enough structure and it pealed away in the molding.
ReplyDeleteWell anything cool you sculpt in 15 mm IS going to be half the size of 28mm, with the resulting casting perils. So I don't think anyone blames you :)
DeleteExcellent Allison mon ami! I am impressed with the conversion work, and the painting is top notch as always! It is a source of great regret that Spacejacker is no longer posting- I always liked his style. I don't suppose for one instant that I am the only one who feels this way.
ReplyDeleteSigh... no you are not. Now we need to just take his inspiration, and keep running with it :)
