HeroQuest Zombie

Well he's done, nothing special but I'm reasonably happy with how he turned out. Once again, GW Snakebite Leather looks rich and wonderful when it's basecoated and washed with a dark brown, but looks dull and lame once you start highlighting... Clearly a colour meant for "dippers" :)
That flesh color is perfect. The snakebite leather may highlight up dull and lame, but the coloration fits well with the rest of the palette.
ReplyDeleteYour title took me back to days of television yore.

Not a fan of the miniature but the paint jobs worth a round of applause. All the colours work well I like the flesh in particular. Snakebite works well with rust, leather and horses, but i think your right it is a difficult colour to get a good highlight on.

Thanks for comments, as always... but Buffy the Vampire Slayer is "days of television yore"? Ouch, I must be old :P
ReplyDelete:D you sure arrrgh!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how to feel about having two different greens placed so close.
The brown is weird but the skin tone binds nicely everything together.
Maybe the rust effect is the weakest part of it. Not on par with the one inspired you but still a solid paintjob (6 to 7 considering it's a HQ guy)
For what this mini is, I think you've done wonders to it. Skin is nice and ghoulie, good rust, etc. THis is the very epitome of what a 'gaming piece' should be.
