'Cause I'm a Rocket Man

Star Pilot
15 mm

Finished my spaceship pilot from 15mm.co.uk.  Not a great sculpt, TBH, but not difficult to paint.  I tried for a shiny gold NMM visor on the spherical lump that is his helmet, I'm not sure if the effect is so great, but oh well, still learning.

The stripes on the base are outright cheating.... I colour printed a web graphic and sliced it into thin strips, then glued them down and blended them in with a little grey paint around the edges.

"Uh... I'll just use the other landing bay."

  2. Very good though. I can't tell whats good or not over at 15mm.co.uk as the photos aren't that great tbh.

    That terrain rocks btw :D

    1. This figure... not very good. Unless you need a generic space guy, in which case it's cheap and available, both of which are virtues on their own.

Glad you like my photo stage :) The papercraft is from some Star Wars fan site, I posted about it a while back. The shipping container is from Antenociti, a free download.

    2. Didn't know about the containers thanks for the link. Did you print them off as is or did you scale them down at all?

    3. I think they're 28mm scale as-is. I printed them at 60% to get this size.

  4. That's the one I was waiting for- nice job Allison. I'm going to have to try very hard not to copy you....AGAIN! I agree about the sculpt- perhaps not the best but it is fully representative, so as you say, if you need a space pilot for a scenario, here you are!

    1. Thanks... and, fair enough. I was going for the NASA jumpsuit blue, but maybe this is too "baby blanket"? ;)
