Sightseeing... out of this world

Valles Marineris
15 mm

So I saw this orange stone in a shop and instantly knew it'd be the perfect base for a couple more of these GZG astronauts.  I suck at identifying rocks, my best guess is that it's metamorphic... something.  Here, it's Mars :)

  1. What a fabulous diorama this is.
One of your best pieces so far in my opinion.
The astronauts fit perfectly with the stone.

  2. Beautiful vignette! The rock looks like a piece of petrified giant Zamadon filet medallion with a beautiful piece of fat! (:o)>

  3. That's very clever! (Although I do want to see a stalking xeno-thing climbing up on them)

    Beautifully painted, as usual!

  4. I love it! The range of colours in both the rock and miniatures is mesmerizing.

I like how being a modeler means that you are always looking at things with an eye of how to use it in the hobby. Garbage is never just garbage. Rocks are never just rocks.

  5. Thanks for the kind comments. Matt - you're correct, I do see things that way! It can lead to hoarding of odd and interesting items, but at last everything is small ;)

  6. This is a really fantastic piece. It transcends simply being a couple of painted miniatures and is truly a work of art. Great job!
